Philosophy
"We are anxious not to irritate the horse and stifle his natural grace and charm – it is like the fragrance of fruit blossom which, once gone, never returns.“
Antoine de Pluvinel (1555-1620)
Today the Kampmann stud is one of the most renowned breeding and schooling centres for top-class dressage horses.
Established in 1998, the stud quickly gained international recognition and is now the top address amongst dressage enthusiasts the world over.
Success begins at home. Class is what counts! The idyllically-positioned stud now owns some 50 carefully selected horses, amongst them broodmares as well as foals, yearlings and two year olds being raised. Each horse takes centre stage with the emphasis on individual attention and personal and professional care.

The best types of feed ensure that each horse receives an optimum, balanced diet for his ultimate well-being. Quiet hours spent on the lush green Ems meadows fill the rest of their day and give the horses the ideal environment in which to grow or to "chill out“ after competitions. The pursuit of success is one of the avowed breeding and sporting objectives of the Kampmann stud and they have a lot to be proud of. The Kampmann stud often returns home after competing with all ages of horses with bows or excellent commendations.
Heinrich Kampmann’s champion stallion and proven sire is the son of Don Bedo, Dancing Dynamite, who was voted 2003 Westfalian Licensing Champion Stallion and won over both the jury and an enthusiastic public with his charisma and gait. The perfect appearance and swinging gait of the little fillies and colts have impressed the judges at foal shows throughout Germany.
The other Westfalian stallion Friedensritter (by Fürst Piccolo - Ehrentusch) is an exceptional stallion, following in the footsteps of his fellow stallion Dancing Dynamite. At the 70 day test in Münster-Handorf in August, the 3 year old was the unassailable champion. Whether walking, trotting or cantering – he was mechanically perfect and, with his flowing, consistent sequence of movements, he is already showing his exceptional class. A dressage index of 147.61 impressively emphasizes this exceptional talent! And for his rideability he was awarded a dream score of 10.0 by “foreign“ horsemen and women.
Whether in breeding or in competitions, these successes are confirmation of the philosophy of the stud.
